It has to be the theme. I just changed the theme to the default 2013 theme and went to the home page I created and clicked on the set featured image. It immediately showed me all the images I had previously uploaded. Going back to the child theme and going into slides and clicking set featured image just shows the spinner continually spinning. Please respond. I paid for this theme and would like to have some support!
